Researching Travel Plans

Authored by Leandro Delgado.

I am a blog writer who lives in Phoenix, Arizona. When I am not blogging I am probably taking care of my baby girl or my husband, shopping, working out or planning elaborate vacations on the internet. My husband loves that I am such a wanderlust because I always have the best ideas on where we can go on our next adventure. Recently I decided to get set up with better internet through these guys, t1.xo. I have found that not only can I do my job better (the obvious necessity) but I can search more vacation rental sites than ever at an even faster speed than I did before. This is the best thing that has ever happened to me (besides my kid and husband, of course)! I decided that we needed to go to New Zealand so I started doing the research and did you guys know that is almost a full day, as in twenty four hours, worth of flying? I did not. I really want to go there but that sounds like the most awful flight ever.

Birthday Cupcakes

I am planning for the birthday party of our daughters for the next 2 months, April and May. I already started buying party stuff that I will need. Arranged for the food that I am planning to just order so I will not be stressed out cooking and entertaining. Now I am looking at buying the birthday cake and also buy bday cupcakes online. I have seen beautiful and delicious cupcakes online that I wanted. I definitely cannot make the cake or cupcakes myself because I am very busy. I hope by the early next month everything will okay and everything is in place so when the party comes I will be relaxed and stress-free.

Daniel's Fast

My husband is currently doing the Daniel's fast, a way of fasting for this Lent season. Our church encourages those who wanted to do the fasting to be drawn more closer to the Lord. I cannot do the fasting because I am still breastfeeding, so hubby signed up for it. They started on March 16 and will end on April 5th. So far hubby is doing well. The only food they can eat are vegetables and fruits and other natural food. No meat, bread, and other processed foods.

From the start of the fasting until now he was able to lost 14 pounds. He said it feels great. I know how he feels and he is fighting the cravings, but I am proud that he had the discipline. He said he is drawing his strength from God and I know he will make it to the end. I am pretty sure that at the end of this, he will not only become physically fit but also his belief in God will be more strengthened.

Studying Law

Just recently, the result of the bar examination in the Philippines just came out. The bar exam is the test to pass before an individual can practice law or become a lawyer. Accordingly this result was one of the highest percentage rate of graduates who passed the exam compared to previous years. I know of some people who passed the exam and even have a very good friend passed it. My friend who lives here in the US also her younger sister was actually a topnotcher of the said prestigious examination.

Before I was thinking of getting an online law degree, but I am not confident that I can do it. If ever I will go for this profession, going to an actual class is best for me. I will not be able to handle the stress of studying law without an actual professor or instructor to interact with during school hours and days. Even now that I am not studying law online I have a hard time coping with my school work and schedules how much more with a very demanding and difficult studies. I am just glad that I am near the end with my online program and I cannot wait to be totally finished.

Save Money on Textbooks with Campus Book Rentals

College students are known to survive on instant noodles and mac and cheese, live with weird roommates and show up to any event during which free food is served. But it doesn’t always have to be this way. Many students are discovering that they can put hundreds of dollars back into their budgets by simply renting their textbooks from Campus Book Rentals, instead of buying them. Campus book rentals is a fantastic service with thousands of college textbooks available from common subjects to the more obscure ones such as, Fish Keepers Guide to African Chichlids. Students can easily search the extensive database by subject, author, ISBN or title. Once ordered, the book promptly arrives at your doorstep and costs less than 50% off the cover price. Once you are done with the book simply return it in the prepaid envelope. With free shipping both ways you never get stuck with hefty postal charges. With Campus Book Rentals there are no regrets. If you decide to keep the book forever, simply pay the difference between the rental fee and the cover price and it is yours to keep. Alternatively, if you drop a class, or for any reason decide that you no longer need the book, simply return it within 30 days of ordering for a 100% money back guarantee. Although rented, these books are meant to be treated as your own, so go ahead and highlight in them. With the money you save renting, you can break the monotony of instant noodles and incorporate other food groups into your diet.

366 Blog Photo Challenge #64 [Keurig]

366 Blog Photo Challenge Entry #64 [Keurig]

This Keurig coffee maker is really nice and so thankful I bought it for hubby. Now that there is a hot apple cider in K-cups, I can use it more often. Not with the coffee yet since I am still breastfeeding. By the way, all the K-cups in the picture are free. Yup, the apple cider just came in the mail on Saturday from Green Mountains. There were 12 in the box with a $3 off coupon for my next purchase of 24-count or more. The hot apple cider is very comforting. It has a hint of brown sugar and cinnamon flavor. Love it.

Preparing the Birthday Invites

Next month will be a busy month for me. Aside from finishing my school work, it is also our daughter's birthday month. She will be turning 2 years old. I was thinking of giving one birthday party for her and our oldest daughter who will be celebrating her 5th birthday in May, but their Daddy said we will have separate celebration since there is one month apart on their birth anniversary.

So, now I am dividing my time doing my school work and preparing our little one's birthday party. First I need birthday invitations to send out. We are planning of having our closest friends and family around here. Right now her favorite show is Yo Gabba Gabba, and she gets excited when that show is on. Just like in the mall earlier, we passed by a skid's store and she saw this stuffed Yo Gabba Gabba characters. She got so excited reciting the names of the cartoon characters for everybody to hear.

I already checked online for different invitation styles and bookmarked those that I am interested in. Hopefully, before the end of this month I can already have the invitations and will be ready to send out. I may have to get ideas now for our oldest birthday invites in May. I am sure I will be able to find a nice one but not expensive invitations just like those that I saw in invitation box site. By doing so, one task is already off for the following month.

It is really very daunting to organize a party, but this is not a grand one so I know it will be okay. I already have some friends who are willing to lend me a hand if I need to. The party will be held in our house and some foods will be ordered so it will be less stressful. I hope and pray that day the weather will be nice so we can use the backyard to entertain the little ones.

366 Blog Photo Challenge #58 [iPhone]

Last week I went to a friend's house for a birthday lunch. It was another get together time for some of my friends that I haven't seen for quite sometime. Before 5pm I went home and hubby is already at home. He came home early to dispose the old mattress. When he got home from the recycle plant, he went to change and said he is going to the store.

While he was out I was online and trying to contact my sister. I then used my cellphone to call my family back in Pinas, but I cannot access and it said my account cannot be verified. I tried calling my husband using our home phone but it will just direct me to his voicemail. I got so frustrated and blew off his phone for calling many times until he answered. He can hear the frustration in my voice asking him where is he and why he is not answering his phone. I told him the problem with my phone and he only said, okay I will call our provider and I am on my way home.

He got home and I did not bother looking at him when he entered the office room. I was still a little bit frustrated that I cannot call Philippines at that instant. He asked me if I can still use my phone and I said, it won't work at all. Then suddenly he said: "Ok, try this" and put the iPhone 4S right in front of me. I was so surprised. That is why my blackberry can't make any calls because he deactivated so that the iPhone can work. I did not expect him to get me the new phone since I am trying to wait for the iPhone 5, if it will come out.

It was indeed another of his surprises. He said, I know I don't want it yet but he thought I would love to have another phone that I was planning to get for an upgrade. I was touched by his effort and he doesn't fail to surprise me. I am liking it now and trying to discover some more apps that I will enjoy with this new phone.

Have You Experience Moving?

I know to those who are military families, moving is part of the lifestyle. They are assign to different post stations and wherever the soldiers go, the family goes as well except for combat deployments or special assignments. Me and my husband were married for a little over 7 years and we moved from state to state 3 times and our last move just happened last year. We moved from our apartment to a house.

During our move from the apartment we did it on our own. The house that we transferred to is just 3 minutes drive so it wasn't that bad. But I am so thankful for the Cheap Moving Boxes that we got, we were able to fit all of our stuff in a van from uhaul with the boxes all arranged inside it. Hubby only had one trip with the van and the rest we put in our vehicles. The boxes for moving came in different sizes and we even got the ones where we can hang the clothes. So from our closet to the boxes and we just take it out from the boxes still in hangers and hung it directly to the new closet we have in the house. It didn't take long for me to arrange the closet for it.

With military move, there will be packers, if you opt for it. They will pack your things and some container vans from different moving companies contracted by the military will pick up the goods and deliver it to your next duty station. They will provide everything. You will only have to wait in your next residence and then they will load to your place per room. Moving is nice but still there is hassle that goes with it. But in the military family like ours, we just enjoy each experience and learned so much from it.

366 Blog Photo Challenge #55 [Free K-cups]

Last December I posted our gift to daddy , the Keurig coffee maker, in my other blog. We are glad he liked it a lot. I think it was the perfect Christmas gift for him. I can get to use it too but only for chocolate drink or apple cider drink. Last week, I received the free K-cups sample of Italian Roast from Barista Prima Coffeehouse that I signed up through their FB page. I received 4 K-cups. Hubby haven't tried it yet, but I am pretty sure he will like it once it is brewed. It's another freebie from the mail for me, yay!

Safe Online Backup

Since last month I decided to have some of my blogs moved to a self-hosted one. The advantages of having my blogs hosted are more than having it in free hosted platform. So now that I have self-hosting domains, I need to always make a backup on it. I don't want to scramble trying to fix my sites when it crashes or infected. This is why I am doing some research and read lots of reviews about online backups. One online service that struck me most in my research is about crash plan and crashplan review gives more information about this service and what they can offer.

With all that, I have read that online backup is now gaining more popularity. Accordingly, by the next years people will have some kind of an online storage to store files or backup their internet files and other important documents for online business and the likes. This is also the reason why I am looking into reputable review sites of backup services online. I know there will be more reviews coming out and you can't tell if these reviews are helping you. But so far, the crash plan looks a good online service and I will have to read more its reviews in the future.

Heart Goes Out to Tornado Victims

It is so sad to note that there were many affected by the recent tornadoes that touched down in midwest and down south. I hope and pray that those who are affected can still find refuge and goodness in God's grace. I am pretty sure help and prayers are coming their way and everybody can get back on their feet again.

I can't really imagine the devastation as it was shown on television. I saw metal buildings, houses, vehicles, school buildings, and other business establishments that are wiped out because of the tornado. I can't imagine myself going through it. I know with all the concerted effort of the government, private entities, and other individuals that are generous to help, they can all get back up. We can only pray that this will not happen again.

366 Blog Photo Challenge #54 [Ipod Replacement]

Last week the Ipod touch that I bought for hubby back in 2010 started to act up until last Thursday night when he tried putting it on the docking station the battery died and won't charge at all. On Friday night he called the Apple customer support and the good thing was that the warranty is still good until June this year. He was told to just bring in to an Apple store and we can have a swap if it cannot be fixed at all. The appointment was yesterday at 1pm. It didn't get us long to be entertained. We waited for a total of 15 minutes and we were swapped with a new one. It is another good service from one reputable company. I am also glad that Apple Care is so fast with its service. Kudos to them! We are another one happy customer.

Dieting Not Working

Since hubby came back from his month-long training out of town, we've been eating out a lot and also cooking at home. So all I can say is that dieting is not working for me now. I tried of having to limit or do a portion control but if great food is in front of you, my discipline seem to vanish and trying to convince myself to work out later. I know this is not a good idea, but I can't really resist.

When we were out yesterday, we ate in a Filipino restaurant. The television in that restaurant was turned on to an exercise channel. How ironic was it, eh? And when we got home, I saw some infomercial about diet pills and apidextra online. I think those are the signs for me to really be serious in making myself healthy. I just smile at the thoughts of these signs and I guess I need not ignore it. It is for my own good anyways.

T-Shirt Branding

Branding is very important if you have a business. I have seen news about companies starting business on printing t-shirts with different saying in it. I think this is very popular now that this apparel are even used as souvenirs in any resorts, tourist spots, and places. But if you don't have a good brand or distinct and unique idea about it, it will be flat and not a good business. I saw this diamond supply co logo of t-shirts and other accessories, and I thought it is about selling diamonds but actually just a brand of different fashion apparel. It is a nice idea and in fairness they have nice products. It can be a good gifts for my balikbayan box as well.
