Online MBA Program

A friend of mine mentioned to me that she wanted to go back to school. She now lives in Canada and work there as a live in caregiver of two young kids. We went to the same university back in the Philippines. I told her that she can check out schools or universities online since she wanted to pursue an MBA. I asked her to browse MBA online schools that she can apply to. I even suggested checking out The University of Scranton wherein they are among the best business schools in the country. They have programs that can only be completed in two years instead of the usual three years from other schools. They ensure also to give students high quality education and programs. The 100% online MBA program is very convenient for those who are working and don't have time to go to regular classroom. So I thought this would be a great option for my friend especially so that they only offer MBA for business but also a specialization in Health Care Management. I was looking into this program as well that maybe after I finish my nursing degree I have an option to further my studies.

More Briefings

My husband's last day of work was supposed to be this coming Thursday but because he will be deployed after we come back here from our trip, he has to attend briefings. This afternoon he has briefing that he detest because it will take half of the day. These briefings are not new to them though, they will do this every time they go for deployment or training that separates them from their families for a period of time. It is mandatory to all of them so he has to attend it. He called me few minutes ago that there'll be two booth that he needs to visit and have his attendance paper be signed before he can go home. I think if you are in the Army too long you would understand what he is complaining about :-) Also, today he received his Anthrax shot again. He hated it :-) He said it is very painful not during the insertion of the needle but when the needle is being pulled out and the vaccine is injected. I laughed at him saying he is getting old for he is complaining too much. I am pretty sure that by next month I will be attending briefings as well. I sure welcome it since it is a way of being informed about things that needs to be done while our soldier is in deployment.

Jogging Stroller

We recently cleaned up our daughter's room and disposed baby gears that we no longer use. We gave some to Goodwill and those that they did not accept we brought to second hand baby stores. Good thing they accepted all of the remaining gears including the travel system or else we end up throwing some of the stuff since we don't have room to store it. Right now we are using a light weight stroller for our toddler. But I am kind of wishing I have a jogging stroller because the stroller that we have is not suitable to walking and jogging especially in a rugged terrain. We even had a hard time pushing it along the beach when we were in Hawaii that we ended up carrying it. It doesn't give much shade from the sun as well. I am looking at having one of this Bob revolution stroller, in picture above, that I found at peppyparents.com. I am glad I found this one since we are looking into buying a good jogging stroller soon. When we get back from our vacation I will start my daily walks and maybe join hubby in his early morning running during weekends. Having a good stroller for our daughter will be easy for me as well as for her so she'll be comfortable on the duration while we are out.

Daddy Shocker Picture

This past father's day hubby wasn't here. They were in Louisiana for their JRTC for a month. So on that day, we were on the phone talking. Our DD was beside me sitting on the bigger computer chair while I sat on the smaller one. It was her nap time already and before I know it she was already asleep at the edge of the chair; one leg and arm hanging down. Our camera is in the bedroom and so I grabbed my cellphone and took a picture. I told hubby that I will send a picture mail to him. We need to hang up so he can check his cellphone. After a few minutes he called our home phone back and he was in disbelief our DD can fall asleep even in a not so comfortable way. Well, kids sleep anywhere when they are really sleepy. May it be in high chair while eating, couch while watching tv and she sometimes fall asleep outside our bathroom door while waiting for me to get out from taking a shower :-) It's not that I take a shower long but it so happen that at times I take a shower after lunch and it'e her nap time too. She can't wait for me to put her to bed that she'll end up sleeping on the floor. Hubby jokingly asked me what I did to her, lolz. She's just too cute :-)

Of Being Sporty

When I was working back in the Philippines I joined a lot of sports games. We have this yearly sports fest and sports of different kind were being played. Back then I played softball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, even tried basketball once. Then our department heads purchased us ping pong table for us to use during practice. After the sports fest I only concentrated on playing badminton and started clinic for tennis. But everything was stopped when I got here. When we were in Georgia the complex where we lived at had a lot of sports activities and I wish it's the same in here but unfortunately not. When hubby left for his deployment I already told him that I will be joining groups of military wives on post that also into sports. I am not sure yet what type of sports but definitely something that will keep me fit and occupied. I am also planning of enrolling our DD to a playgroup so I can meet other Moms and she can meet kids of her age. I have so many plans that gears towards living healthy and fit and hopefully these plans will pushed through.

Our 4th of July Celebration

Our fourth of July celebration was exciting for me because our daddy came home from a long month away for his training out of state. I woke up around 8am and started to prepare food for our daddy's homecoming. I went grocery shopping the day before and it was really packed at the store. I only prepare three dishes, rice, and a dessert. I did not make more food since there's only the three of us here. I don't want the food to get wasted when we cannot consume it all. I made deep-fried chicken (my version of chicken joy), chicken adobo aloha, green bean casserole; the hotdogs were also being readied in case someone wants one. For the dessert, I made the Wave Your Flag Cheesecake. I already made this dessert during my first 4th of July here in the US and decided to make it again to honor the US independence as well as hubby's arrival.

Around 2pm hubby's plane landed at the air force base and he called me right away. I then went to the base to pick him up around 4pm. We waited for more than an hour since they did inventory of all the gears they brought back. We were home almost 6pm. We had our family dinner and I am very thankful that he is home. At the base there was a celebration going on as well as fireworks display but I told hubby we can skip it this time so he can rest and relax at home. I am just glad for hubby to be home and with us again.

Late Night Sleep

Lately with my craziness over online games I go to sleep somewhat late. When I sleep late I am also susceptible with facial breakouts or pimples. I still have an acne trace on my temple that broke out last month. When I went to the spa last month I asked the aesthetic specialist what beauty products I should use to prevent from future breakouts. She suggested to me different products with acne treatments and the one I am using now is helping me out. But I still need something that can treat my pimples as well as moisturize my skin. I admit before I really don't give too much attention with my skin but when you are getting older the damage to your skin is showing. I wish I did something to it before and maintain it so I will not have problem right now. Hopefully I will see a good result of the new product I am using now. I have been using it for couple of weeks and so far it is good.

Whose Fault???

Honestly, in my frustration I vowed not to use FedEx anymore. This happened when I sent a package for hubby in his FOB address in Ft. Polk, Louisiana and he did not receive the package. I blogged about it previously. The package contain my Father's day gift and cards for him. It was returned to the shipper and I was thinking the shipper is me but the store I used to send it has the shipper address and I wasn't informed about it. When I tracked the package it was said it was delivered back on June 25th. I went to our complex's office and asked if I have a package to be picked up but there was none. I called FedEx and that's when I found out they delivered it to the store. I called up the store and they said they did not receive it. They told me there is no such person who signed for the package working in their store. They assured me though that they will talk to FedEx people what's the deal on it.

Came Monday I called again and the store manager told me that the delivery guy of FedEx delivered it to different company. It was really messed up. I was ticked off about it. First, they were not able to deliver it to my husband then next when it was returned, they deliver it to different company. Where's the efficiency there? I called FedEx again and aired out what I felt about the whole thing and how dissatisfied I am for their service. They just said sorry and they will try to trace the package and deliver it to the store. I told them too that I am hoping I will get it before hubby comes home. It was already Tuesday and I still didn't heard of it. I called the store again and they were told by FedEx people they already got the package and they will deliver it to them. I was thinking they will deliver it the same day since it's only in the area but was delivered to them on Wednesday. I got a call Wednesday afternoon from the store that they have the package already and it's ready for pick up. Since it was late afternoon already I went there on Thursday to pick it up. It was really disappointing. I hope it will not happen again. I may not use FedEx again if I send package within the US unless I have to.
