Military Moving

Two of my new friends here are moving this coming August. One will go to California to live with her sister and the other one to Minnesota to live with her parents in law. Their husbands are going to be deployed also on the same month. They decided to move out here since they don't have relatives around. The one who will move to California is planning to go back to school. She has a son and her sister will help her look after her son while she goes to school. The other one is pregnant and will give birth in October. It will be very difficult for her to live by herself and so she will be in her mother in law's care while waiting for her husband to return. It is really a daunting task when you are expecting deployment. If you have circumstances that is impossible for you to live alone, you don't have a choice but to move somewhere where somebody can be there for you. Last week they've been looking for cheap moving boxes since they want to start packing their things and put in the storage. Those that they don't need they're selling and some were being tossed. My husband will be deployed too but I decided to stay here. I don't have an unusual circumstance except that I am still planning to continue my studies. And we decided that we'll just use day care to leave our DD while I go to school or work in the future. Sometimes you wish that you are in a civilian life to avoid separation but knowing that your sacrifice is for the good of all, that is kind of rewarding.

She Likes Dogs

My husband told me that he has a Labrador dog before. He loved that dog so much that he got devastated when the dog died. When we got married we were discussing of getting a pet dog but because we were both busy with work I told him that we may not be able to take good care of it. Now, our daughter gets excited every time she sees a dog or cat. She loves petting them and she's not scared at all. I ask her if she wants a dog and she will said yes. I know she is still small so maybe when she gets a little older where she can already be responsible and help in taking care of the pet. Also by that time it will not be hard for me to take care both of a pet and our daughter. For those who have pets and wants to buy discounted dog supplies, check out jefferspet.com because they have all the supplies you need for your pets. I know how expensive it can get having a pet so by saving on your supplies it would surely make a big difference.

Return to Shipper

I am so disappointed because my package that I sent to hubby before father's day is now on it's way back to me. I sent it on the 15th through FedEx. I was told that it will get there on the the 19th, which is Friday. So I was very confident that my package for hubby will be delivered before Father's Day. When I tracked the package online on the 19th I was stunned to see that it was return to shipper because the recipient refused to accept it. Obviously they delivered it to the wrong person and did not bother to ask info about the addressee. The address is a FOB address since they are only in training there but they should receive packages there. I am really disappointed because hubby will read his card and when he gets here. To think that I was really excited to know hubby's reaction reading the one card I sent :-) I called the customer service and they just told me that it was being refused. When I checked again, the package is en route here and maybe today or tomorrow I will receive it. I did not like it but what can I do.

Summer Is Officially Here

Summer is officially here. Have you decided of things to do for the family to enjoy the season? Well, whatever it may be just make sure that you keep cool and hydrated. This is the season where heat waves is being felt by many places. You should not forget to apply sunblock on especially if you plan of going to the beach or have an outdoor adventure. Even if you are just staying at home in your backyard, lounging in your outdoor furniture, you should not forget to put on sunblock as well. When we were in Hawaii, the weather was very hot and I applied sunblock lotion to our DD more than two times in a day. I brought more fluids, juices, water, and milk to keep us hydrated. I love to go out during summer time. I am always looking forward for it to come but sometimes the scorching hot of the sun can really throw me off. So, whatever it is you are planning to enjoy summer, make sure to take extra care.

When Hubby is Away

I will be forced to do everything that need to be done. There are errands that I don't like doing when hubby is around but since he is not here I will be the one to do everything. One of which is filling gas for the vehicles. I just don't like it :-) Yesterday I was out most of the day doing errands. I accomplished a lot though. It was so hot and I was driving around, going places and do what I needed to do. Our DD is with me, of course, and I felt so sorry for her since it was hot and I have to take her in and out of the car seat many times. I was able to finish my errands around 4pm. My new friend that lives in the same complex texted me that they're at the pool swimming. After I finished changing our DD and put away the things I bought we went to our complex's pool. We did not swim. We just watched our friends and their kids. I am so glad right now I can go out with some friends already. They're a blessing especially that hubby is away and will be deployed soon after he gets back here. He told me that now he will not worry anymore of me getting bored when he is away since I have my new found friends that I can hang out with.

Home Alarm System

We were talking about installing alarm system in our apartment unit before hubby left for his training. But because of our busy schedule and travel, we were not able to ask our complex's management if we can do it. Before hubby leave for his deployment, we will check up on that since he will be gone for quiet sometime and he wanted us to be safe here at home. He told me he will be at peace if he knew we are well protected here. I also agree with the idea. Safety is our number one priority especially so that we have a child. Having an alarm system can greatly put the residents peace of mind in going to sleep at night as well as when leaving the house. I have a friend that also lives in an apartment. Her husband is also in my husband's unit. She told me that there was a burglary attempt in their unit and it scared her very much. They don't have home alarm but thankfully she woke up before the burglars got in. I don't want it to happen to us so I have to put installing of alarm number in our to do list when hubby gets back.

Plan for Father's Day

Father's day is fast approaching but unfortunately our Daddy will not be here by that time. He is out of state right now for training and will be back in July. Yesterday I receive an email from our FRG leader giving us their FOB address and also telling us to send stuff before June 22nd. If I'm not mistaken Father's day will be on the 21st so I am planning of sending some stuff to hubby on Monday. Aside from the usual card that I always give him on that special day, I still don't know what to give to him. We spoke over the phone many times in a day and when I ask him what he wants he will just tell me not to give him anything. But I guess this weekend I can come up with something to be sent on Monday. It is always my concern every time there's a special occasion. I always have a hard time looking for that perfect gift :-) What can you suggest ladies? :-)

Diet Pill Talk

Yesterday my new friend invited us for lunch in their house. There were six of us ladies and we're all married to military except the host. Only one from among us who don't have kids yet. So if girls are talking, expect that the conversation varies from being a wife, motherhood and of course losing weight. In fairness, the ladies I've been with yesterday are all in good shape and fit. Even though they already have kids but they still maintain a good figure. We talked about what they are using in order not to gain weight or what regimen they go through to stay slim and fit. We also mentioned about diet pills like ephedrine and other pills that can be used as quick fix in losing weight. One of my friend told me that she was taking diet pills before but stopped when she got pregnant. Right now she is returning to the gym to shed off the excess weight. That is what I needed to do too; to hit the gym and start sweating and burning calories :-)

Playing at the Beach

Our DD was scared to walk on the sand at Windward Beach in Hawaii. I tried to put her down but she just don't want to let go. I let hubby hold her and persuade her to go down but she clung on her dad like holding on for dear life :-) So daddy and her were playing catching the waves. The picture above was taken when the water did not washed to the shore yet. She shrieked every time the water touches her feet. I think she enjoyed it.

Are You a Bag Person?

I think most women love purses, bags, handbags, totes, and whatever you may call it. I admit I am one bag fanatic and wish that I have lots of money to buy handbags that I really love. But I only buy those that I can afford and know that I can use. There are times that I am tempted to buy designer ones but when I look at the price it is just too much for my pocket. When we were in Hawaii I went inside stores that sells designer handbags and I'm telling you my eyes literally went big when I saw those beautiful purses. Unfortunately can't get one since I can't afford it. But for those who want bags I found a great way to get wholesale handbags at a very affordable price at liquidation.com. I was browsing through this site and I am impressed by the selection of bags they have ready for auction. If you are interested, check the site out and see if your favorite designer bags and accessories can be found in there.

Off to a Month Training

Our plane landed at Seatac airport last night at 9:50pm but we were out of the airport almost 11:00pm. We were hoping we got here early because hubby's manifest call for their departure to Louisiana is at 12midnight. He is really cutting close with the time. I know he's very tired but he needed to be up to perform his duty. We drove home and we just unloaded our things and hubby changed into his uniform then we drove to his company. We drove hubby's truck to his workplace. I dropped him off there and waited for few minutes then we bade goodbye. Our DD cried when her Dad said bye bye. I think she somehow understand that Daddy will be away for a while. He will be on training for a month. I know this is not new to me but every time he leave for training or deployment, it always feel like it's the first time. I and our DD got home around 1am. I felt the void and emptiness as soon as we enter the house. I think I will never get used to it :-) Hubby told me that he can't wait till he retire so we will not deal with long separations again and have a vacation that is not in a hurry.

Route to Slimness

If you want to become slim and fit which route you want to choose? I know there are lots to choose from. You can go to the gym and enroll in any fitness program, you can have a diet regimen, or you can go for phentermine diet pills and loss weight quickly. Whichever way you may find fitting to your needs, it is important to ask your physician. If you opt for pills, aside from asking your health provider, you also need to know more about the pill that you are going to take. For more understanding about phentermine products, you can check out slimroute.com. They have information about this product that can guide you if you are contemplating on using it.

Escorted at the Casino

During the Memorial day weekend we were driving to the neighboring town and we passed by Red Wind Casino. It was about dinner time so hubby decided to go in and eat at their restaurant. Luckily there was a free entertainment outside and there's a cook out. You can get chicken barbeque, steak, and sides for $10 and kids meal for $5. We decided to eat outside but have to take money out from the ATM. The ATM is situated inside the casino so we have to go in. At the entrance we were told to wait for an escort because we have a minor with us, our DD. I did not know that there is a need for an escort even if you are only going inside to use the ATM or go to their buffet restaurant. According to them, it is their rule and minors, 17 years old and below must be escorted when going inside their casino. Now we know :-)

All The Gears Are Packed

This week hubby is very busy. They are loading the vans that contain their gears for their month long training out of state. They also packed all gears, office furniture, and other necessary things that they are going to use in Iraq. Yesterday I was a bit late in going to school since my husband were not able to be home early. I could have driven to school and bring DD with me then meet hubby there. But it's just the same story. When he arrived in school we have to transfer the car seat to his truck since we only have one car seat. It will take time and the same story I will still be late. Good thing though that when I got in our classroom our instructor just started giving lecture. It's really a hassle when you don't have a trusted baby sitter. In the next days when hubby is not around, I need to make arrangements for a sitter just so I can take my finals. Crossing my fingers and toes that I will be able to find one.

Daddy and DD on the Swing

One downside for me and for Moms who has toddler to go to this park that we went to few days ago, is they don't have swing set that fit for toddlers. I wish they do have coz I really like going to this park. When we were there, hubby have to be with our DD just so she can ride on it. She like to swing alone but she can't do it by herself yet. She has a long way to go before doing so :-) She always say 'agi-agi' - again - when her Daddy stops swinging.

Can't Resist the Good Food

When my cousin and her family went home to the Philippines, she told me that she gained more weight because she can't resist the foods. So, she warned me that since we are also going there for vacation, I have to bring an appetite suppressant. Because she know that same as her, I will not be able to resist the good food that our folks back home will cook for us. Thinking about it right now really made me miss my home country very much. It's more than four years that I haven't been home and aside from missing my family a lot, I also crave the dishes that I grew up with but haven't tasted for years now. I am pretty sure that I will gain more pounds even if we will only be there for two weeks. When we get back here from that vacation I may have to pursue my intention of enrolling in one of the fitness gym here in our area in order for me to get back in shape and get rid of the excess pounds I will gain.

Inside the Stryker Vehicle

During the Armed Forces Day, May 16, there were displays of military vehicles in the installation where my husband is working. We went there and checked out the displays as well as the food and fun stuffs they have had. The first vehicle we checked out was the Stryker. It is the vehicle that hubby will be using in Iraq, not the one on display though :-) The driver was demonstrating how it works and showing the camera that views 360 degree. Hubby was also telling me what goes on the top of the vehicle and what not. That was my second time checking out military vehicle displays. I went to one back in Georgia when we were stationed there, before our little girl was born.

We also let our DD climbed up the Black Hawk helicopter. Daddy put her on the side chair and put the seat belt on as well. I wanted to let her sit on the pilot's chair but there were too many kids waiting in line to climb up there as well so we decided not to. It's great to see once in a while up close what the military are using in defending our country. It is also educational to kids and adults alike to know different stuff about the US military.
