Sunday Picture

(Daddy and daughter going to the carport)

Sunday was a very nice and sunny day. We woke up early so we can prepare for church. The church service that we usually attend every Sunday starts at 10:45am. Our DD woke up around 9am so she still have time. Hubby got ready first while I fed her and then gave her a bath. After changing her then I got myself ready. We were a little late when we got to the church but the actual service did not start yet. While at church we are proud of our DD. She did not cry nor act up. She was quietly sitting in between us while holding her "lambino" (stuffed lamb toy) for the most part. When she got bored she got up and down the chair but did not make any loud noise. Bringing stuff to occupy her helped a lot. I hope she will continue to be behaved every time we go to church..

Skin Problem

On the 19th of this month after my appointment from my OB-Gyne I passed by the Dermatology clinic and inquire how can I make an appointment to see a Dermatologist. I wanted to have my skin problem assessed since I really don't know what to do with it anymore. The receptionist told me that I need to have a referral from my primary care provider before I can make an appointment with them. So this means I need to see my PCP first at the Family Clinic of the Army hospital and if he will say I need to be referred then I can go to the Derma. If I want to go to a Dermatologist without referral I can go off post but I have to shoulder the expenses which I believe it will cost me an arm and a leg.

My skin problem is really bothering me. It's so dry and now I have this winter rashes. Although it's spring already but because we still have cold weather here I still have the rashes especially when we go out. My face also needs a good moisturizer that will smoothen it. I've been doing trial and error with different beauty products but I don't have any luck of what will do great for my skin. My friend told me her sister-in-law just tried microdermabrasion to treat her skin and now her skin looks very healthy and smooth. So now I am opting to go online and check out where I can find a good Dermatologist here in our area. Just in case my PCP will not give me referral then I will just go to other clinic outside the installation. Hopefully it will not be that expensive. I only wanted to have a healthy skin and not be bothered by its dryness.

Spring Fever

Literally hubby has a little fever when spring came. Yesterday when he was on his way home from work he called me and said he is not feeling good; he felt sick in his stomach and his head hurts. I was cooking when he called. When he got home he just changed and laid on the couch. Before I had the table set for dinner I massage his head and back and rubbed some vicks vapor rub so his stuffy nose will clear a little bit. He took Nytquil and before he drift off to deep sleep we had our dinner. Even until he came home from work early this evening he complained of headache. But I did not cook anything for dinner so we went out for dinner. We went to a Chinese buffet. The place was packed. I thought of just going to another restaurant to keep us from waiting since hubby is not feeling well. But I know since it's Friday and dinner time most restaurants may be packed too. Good thing we did not wait that long. We were seated and had some grubs. After we ate we headed home so our Daddy can rest. I am hoping that hubby gets well soon and our DD will not catch anything he has.

Kettlebells

I was doing some following in Twitter when I came across a question that says if anyone has used Kettlebells. I got curious that I replied what it is and what it is for. I was so ignorant that I research it online and I found kettleworx.com that explains all about it. So then I found out that it is a device used in working out similar to dumbells but accordingly better to be used than the latter. As to what I also read that this device provides a great cardio workout and it engages almost all the muscles in the body. My husband is planning to buy more dumbells because he is working out at home as well. Now that I learned about Kettlebells I will tell him to try it instead of his regular dumbells. He likes to work out and I believe this Kettleworx workout that uses Kettlebells will give him the best workout that he is looking for.

Heroes at Home Scholarship

I am very thankful with the Heroes at Home - Career Advancement Account program because I am able to finish my certificate program without any money coming from my pocket. I applied for this scholarship available for qualified military spouse back in fall quarter and I was approved. This really helps in paying tuition and books and other school fees. This spring quarter is my last quarter to finish my Medical Coding certificate. It is an employment preparation certificate program that will enable me to apply for a job. In this time of economic uncertainty having a specific skill is helpful in finding a job.

I enrolled already last week after a glitch with my prerequisite. The Medical Terminology is the prerequisite of my two classes for spring. I took this class in Georgia and apparently the community college that I'm going to here did not receive my requested transcript. So they don't have record that I already took the prerequisite. I requested the transcript again and this time I had it sent to our address and when it arrived I took the unopened envelope to the school. When I went there, they checked if the course is transferable and fortunately it is. I registered for the two classes, Diagnostic Coding and Procedural Coding. These are the last two classes I will take and then I can apply for graduation for my certificate program. I am still thinking if I will apply for graduation or just get my certificate of graduation after I finished the course.

Once again, I am thankful for the CAA program for military spouse. It really helps those spouses that wants to take employment preparation courses. If you are a military spouse and you want to go back to school, you can check out about it at military.com/spouse and check if your service member's installation is participating.

Hubby's Four Day Weekend

Hubby have a four day weekend started yesterday. He will go back to work on Tuesday. When he got home from work on Thursday he mentioned that they have new guys in their company. And this one guy he learned on his paperwork that he's newly married and his wife is a Filipina. He told him that I am Filipina too. So this soldier told hubby that his wife just been here in the US for five months and they are still doing all the paperworks. He also told hubby that I can call his wife anytime. When hubby told me about it I asked if he has the phone number and he said he left it in his office. Since we are on our way out that night also we passed by his office and took the number. Yesterday morning I called her and we talked for almost an hour on the phone. Since our respective husbands are in the same company and will be deployed soon we will be seeing more of each other especially during briefings and FRG meetings. I am glad I have a new Filipina acquaintance and hopefully be my good friend here.

Car Parts Warehouse

When I was driving this morning going to post, I noticed an unusual sound from underneath the car. Every time I step on the brake I will hear a vibrating sound from the car. So when hubby got in the car and drove back home I told him about the noise and he said it's something that he needs to adjust. He was also saying he need to check out some car parts since it's that time of the year again that he has to tune up our vehicles. He is the only one doing it since he don't want to spend more money at a car shop. He usually checks out car parts online before buying because he can find good deals online than in store. One of the sites he likes going to is the car parts warehouse at carpartswarehouse.com. This online warehouse sells car parts that are cheaper than its competitor. They have car parts for all types of vehicles. If you need car parts you can visit this site now and you will enjoy free shipping of your purchase. So gear up your cars and get the best and quality car parts at an affordable cost at car parts warehouse.

Welcome Home Daddy!

Hubby is already here. We picked him up on post this morning. Around 8am he called me saying they just landed at McChord AFB. Yesterday I got a call from my FRG leader that we can pick up our respective spouses at 12:30pm. But when hubby called he told me to be their at 11am. At 10:30am we drove off to post. It wasn't that traffic so our drive was smooth. I got their past 11 and called hubby that we're already outside. We waited for few minutes because they're still busy. When hubby finally came out bringing his stuffs our DD went quite. She just looked at her Daddy so intently without smiling. When hubby opened the door and called her she just looked at him shyly but when Daddy pick her up she raised her arms to be carried. I guess she was just being shy not seeing her Daddy for a month. Right now we are here in the apartment and our DD keep following her Daddy around the house :-)

Not a Jewelry Person

The only diamond jewelry I have is the engagement ring that hubby gave me. It was so sweet of him to buy such expensive jewelry to show that he is true in his intention to marry me. I appreciate it very much although I only wear it during special occasion coz I am afraid I will lost it. During our anniversary last year we were at the mall and he went inside a jewelry store. He was asking about pieces of jewelry and one of them is a diamond hoop earrings that looks like my engagement ring. He told me he like to buy it for me but I already told him not to get me anything. Jewelries can wait and those that he bought for me are all in the box and not being used. It is nice to own pieces but if you are not using it, it becomes useless. Maybe when I decided to use jewelry everyday then I will bug hubby to buy me :-)

It's Official

The upcoming deployment of hubby's unit was officially announced and I heard it in our local news last Monday. The weekend after hubby told me about this early deployment I received a call from our FRG coordinator. She was tasked to read, verbatim, the official letter from the commander informing family members that our soldiers will be deployed this coming fall. It was read to us through phone calls on a Saturday to make sure that family members will hear it first hand before the announcement on Monday. This is something that we really need to prepare. My due date month is also the month that they will leave. What could happen, if I gave birth before their departure hubby can go with all of them. But if I give birth after then hubby has to wait for me give birth then he will just follow. So this coming months we will have to arrange a lot of things; prepare for our second baby's arrival, check out day care and also get information about support group that will visit me at home everyday for the first few months after I gave birth. Hopefully and I pray that everything will fall into place before hubby leaves.

Bus Charter in New York City

I have been to New York once when we visited my brothers and sisters in law. But during that visit I wasn't able to roam around the city since it was around winter time and it was raining cats and dogs. I learned that if you are going to New York and you are in group, you can opt for a charter bus nyc that will bring you places around the Big Apple. I know a lot of people from different states or even country wanted to go to New York. So if you happen to go there in groups you can contact them at nycbuscharters.com. What is great with their services is not just a charter transportation business but they are known to give their customers the guaranteed satisfaction. They have clean and well maintained vehicles for use, they pride in their on-time service and most of all offer very reasonable rates. One more thing that is great about them is their buses are running green. This means they have environment friendly vehicles.

So I think I know now who to contact once me and my family or even friends will go to New York and we need charter transportation. You can't beat good services that will take you places that you haven't been before. Courteous drivers, comfortable, luxurious, quality vehicles with great affordable rates, are just but some of the things that makes charter bus nyc one of the best in the industry.

Five More Days

Yes, it's five more days and our Daddy will be home :-) I will have somebody to help me with our DD. Ever since I weaned her until now she is very clingy that I cannot do anything online or house chores without her bothering me. If I will sit her on my lap she will also compete in tapping the keyboard. She wanted me to show her favorite website, the starfall. Going to sleep is still an adjustment to her. Before, I breastfeed her and then she will just fall off to sleep. Now I have to sing or even dance her around so she can go to sleep. She don't drink milk from a bottle but on her sippy cup. After she had her milk I put her to bed. She will toss and turn for few minutes before she settles. Sometimes if she is somewhat crabby, I need to carry her and let her sleep on my shoulder. There will be crying too especially when she hinted that it's time for her bedtime.

I think I need to establish a consistent routine and stick to it so she can fully adjust to her schedule. I am really trying to have a routine but when she naps at 4pm she wakes up around 7pm thus making her bedtime extended after 9pm. Just like today, my OB appointment was at 3pm. I went to the hospital early since I have to pick up an INTAKE form and fill it up. I left the apartment at past 1pm. Around 12pm DD went for a nap but it was just a short one since I have to wake her up to leave. We got home almost 4pm and took another nap passed 5pm and woke up after 7pm. Most probably she will go to sleep around 10pm or even passed it. Even if I put her to sleep earlier she will just play in her room and cry if I force her to. Oh well, I know she will be adjusted. What I am looking forward now is for hubby to be here and then he can help me around here :-)

Insurance is Important

I was watching a local show and they were talking about money. As we all know that we are really deep into recession with a lot of people lost their jobs and don't know where to get money for the next months if they cannot find another job. One guest asked if it is a good idea to stop her health insurance to save the money that she has to pay for the insurance and use the money for their daily needs. One money adviser told her that it is not a good idea because what if something happen. She also informed her about getting a cheaper insurance. There are lots of insurance companies that will help consumer and even lower their payments monthly. I agree that although money is really hard nowadays but we should be prepared in any circumstances. There are free insurance quotes that we can check online if we wanted to compare insurance premiums. We can shop around and look for the one that we can afford and fit our needs.

Vacation in June

We are planning for a vacation in June. This is a much needed vacation for the family since months after that hubby will leave for a year of deployment. This vacation we are planning to see all the kids so hubby will have the chance to see them before he leave. I am looking at deals now so we can save on this up coming trip. There are deals that will give free hotel night or even percentage off of your stay and some other freebies. We have airline miles that we can use for our flight so at least on that aspect we are already covered. At first I was apprehensive of taking another vacation because of financial reasons but as I have said that it is much needed because hubby will leave. I think for whatever we incur during this vacation we can still replenish it in the coming days. What is important is for us to see the kids and be with them before daddy leaves.
