Off to a Month Training

Our plane landed at Seatac airport last night at 9:50pm but we were out of the airport almost 11:00pm. We were hoping we got here early because hubby's manifest call for their departure to Louisiana is at 12midnight. He is really cutting close with the time. I know he's very tired but he needed to be up to perform his duty. We drove home and we just unloaded our things and hubby changed into his uniform then we drove to his company. We drove hubby's truck to his workplace. I dropped him off there and waited for few minutes then we bade goodbye. Our DD cried when her Dad said bye bye. I think she somehow understand that Daddy will be away for a while. He will be on training for a month. I know this is not new to me but every time he leave for training or deployment, it always feel like it's the first time. I and our DD got home around 1am. I felt the void and emptiness as soon as we enter the house. I think I will never get used to it :-) Hubby told me that he can't wait till he retire so we will not deal with long separations again and have a vacation that is not in a hurry.

I have a question, My husband is going to training at Ft. Benning Georgia for 9 months. He is going to school to become an Sgt. Could I go with him and live on base? We have a baby and I don't want her to be away from him that long. I know that familys can move with there spouses but I want to know if they would allow me and my child to live with him on base for his 9 month training? Any answer wood be great. Thanks, Charmaine

Hi Charmaine! As far as I know, if a soldier will go on training beyond 6 months, the family can go with him. You might ask your husband to verify on it though :-) Hope this helps.
