Thursday at the Park

This is the children's park that we went to on Thursday during hubby's battalion picnic. It was a huge park and very clean. It is very conducive for biking, walking, family picnic and gatherings. There are football field, baseball and other ball game areas. It was a great day and even if it was hot the wind kept it cool. If the weather permits some other time we will have our picnic there again.

Knocked Down

It was very hot earlier outside and hubby was kinda busy at work. When he got home he lay down on the couch and in a few minutes he was knocked down. I have to wake him up because he has phone appointment with one of his adviser in eArmyU. There are really times that the heat of the sun can bring us down. Most of the time if I am outside and it's hot as well as windy once I can sit in a comfortable chair I would really go knocked down. It's like your energy is being sucked up by something you do not know :-)

Swim Wear

Hubby and I is already planning for our summer vacation. The first place that we are looking at of going will be Hawaii. So this means I need to get ready and possibly look at swimsuits that I can use as well as for our little girl and hubby. I am looking at something like the picture on the side. I can't afford to wear two piece yet because of my muffin top as what others call it :-) So a tankini is appropriate or should I say what I can courageously wear. I am excited for this vacation but also thinking hard many times considering the economic consequence of it :-)

Battalion Cook Out

This morning hubby picked us up to go to Steilacom Park in Lakewood for their battalion's cook out. This bar-b-que cook out is for all the soldiers in their battalion to get together along with the family and just hang out at the park. We arrived at the park around lunch time because hubby got tied up in his office. When we got there they already started eating and there were others who are going back to post.

We got our food but I really did not eat much since I am still full. Then hubby's Company Commander told me that hubby is really a big help in the HHC and he works a lot. It's a good feeling that somehow his work and dedication is being recognized. I sometimes complain to him when he brings his work at home but I understand that he is only doing his job.

The children's playground is really very nice and welcoming so I brought our DD inside the playground and let her try the swing which she really love. I will post pictures of her at the playground in my other blogs as soon as I can upload it in the computer.

Another Football Game

Tomorrow will be another football game in my hubby's battalion. We will be going there again mid-morning tomorrow. I asked hubby if he is going to play and he said it really depends. It has been a while since he played football. It is not his most loved game when it comes to playing but only watch it. Honestly hubby knows a lot of sports game but he ever since we got married I haven't seen him play in competition. His form of exercise is through their regular Physical Training and by running. We have been discussing of going through a tennis clinic or attend some golf lessons but seemed like we don't have the eagerness yet at this time. Our Daddy's Weekend Treat

The past weekend our Daddy brought us to places that we haven't been to. First off he has been telling me eversince last year that he will bring us to Mt. Rainier. Then came Saturday he said we will go to the Northwest Trek. It is like a conservation forest with wild animals roaming inside. So we headed there first and there was an event that happened that day. It was the 2nd day of the Slug Fest where the highlight is a slug competition.

We arrived at NWT after lunch. As soon as we got there we headed right away for the tour around the forest which took 55 minutes. We hopped on a tour tram and the tour guide talked about the animals and plants that we met along the way. NWT is huge but I was thinking they have the wild animals that you can see in a wild safari. Although there were animals there but not a lot like what we saw in Pine Mountain, GA before. It was an enjoyable ride after all. After NWT our Daddy brought us to Mt. Rainier and it is very nice up there. I will talk about our trip there in my other blog later.

Friendly Game

We were at the football field yesterday watching the friendly game football between the Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers in my husband's battalion. It was a very fun day. A lot of of people were there including soldiers and families. The FRG was making a fund raiser out of it as well by putting up a hotdog stand. The Officers won but it was a really good game. Afterwards hubby brought me to their new office building so I will know where it is at. The building is old only repainted and I think it is just temporary. He has his own office and he is very proud to show it to me. He said he cleaned it good and he needs blinds to cover the window because when the sun sets it will really come through it. We got home passed lunch time and all of us were tired from being under the sun half of the day.

Don't Bring Your Work at Home

Last week hubby brought his work laptop at home and he was doing some work. We don't have enough space in our office table so he uses our dining table. I told him that how I wish he can leave his laptop in his office and not bring it at home. Aside from the clutter it creates in our dining area, his time to spend with us is limited because he is facing his laptop most of the time. So Monday he brought it back to his job. But yesterday he brought it home again. I asked him if it is really important that he has to bring his work at home. He said not really. Then this morning when I woke up his laptop wasn't here anymore and he told me that he brought it back to his office and will not bring it home again :-)

Tomorrow we will be going to hubby's post and watch them play football. According to him it will be a friendly game between them, NCOs, and the Officers. I haven't seen him play any sports before. Family Day Out

Our Daddy was happy pushing our DD's stroller. Sometimes we get to fight who will push because he won't let me. I give him more time since I know he missed doing it. We were walking at the ramp here towards the park entrance.

Bought a Grill

Our Daddy bought a grill this morning. He is very excited bringing it home. It is only a small grill just enough for the small space we have at our small patio. So after he put it together we then tested it by grilling chicken wings and steak. This is our first grill since we did not buy before due to lack of space to store it. He bought a small grill because I don't want to have a big one that I know will just be occupying the whole area at our patio. Laptop

I am debating if I am going to purchase a new laptop or not. My old one needs to be updated and needs a new battery. 4 Day Weekend!

Back to School

Hubby is now busy preparing all his requirements for school. He is going back to school hopefully this fall. He wanted to go for the summer class but he can't make it since we have a lot of things to do for the summer. Last Minute Shop

Around 9pm last night hubby asked me if I want to go with him. I asked where and he said he is going to Target to get something. A Day Off

I am glad tomorrow hubby will be off because we are planning to do some grocery shopping too since we run out of some house supplies and food staples. They went to work straight for 8 days and they only get one day off and goes back to work again. The good thing is they will have 4 day weekend for the whole month of June and their block leave starts on the 1st of July. Everyday hubby looks very tired when he gets home and she literally dozes off to sleep when he is on the couch. His cough and colds is getting better and he is more okay now than the past days. He is still very stubborn though, everytime I told him to sleep early he still want to watch tv instead and goes to bed past 10pm.

Briefings

I learned from my husband that the straight 8 days that they have to report for work are all because of briefings and medical evaluations as well as dental works. Even this weekend they need to go to work. But I am glad they were dismissed this morning earlier than yesterday because I need him to rest so he can recover from his sickness. Tomorrow they will be having another briefings that he think will last until the afternoon. The army wants to make sure that their reintegration is squared away. There are other soldiers too that will PCS or ETS but glad he is not doing that again for the next 3 to 4 years.

Memory Upgrade

When hubby got home from work earlier he asked me if I still want to upgrade our computer system. Honestly it does need updating on its ram or what is known as the Random Access Memory. I told him yes because I wanted our computer to run faster and not wait forever to load up some web pages. No Weekend Off

I was hoping that hubby will spend this weekend with us but not. He has to go to work as I have said before 8 straight days after they got back. My Cake

No I did not bake it. I bought the cake and I just put the sprinkles and chocolates - M&Ms around it. I wanted to try baking a cake but I don't have time to do it because our DD will be all over me everytime I go to the kitchen. I just cooked chicken adobo because it was what hubby requested, yeah his favorite. He was very appreciative though even if I only made a retouch on the cake :-) It may not be the prettiest cake but he made me feel like it is :-)

Hubby's Homecoming II

These are the soldiers marching in. They were the last to come inside and our Daddy is the 5th one from the person seen with a big step :-) He did not see us yet because he was facing straight up not sideways. And of course they are marching in so no unnecessary movement.

Our Daddy is standing at the front row his half body was covered by the podium :-) This was taken after he was able to see us. I was waving my flag to him and she smiled when he saw us.

Our Daddy Got Sick

When hubby arrived I noticed his voice is hoarse. I asked him if he is feeling okay, he said he has sore throat. I know then that he may have cough and cold. I think his not getting enough sleep for the two days flight coupled with the sudden change of temperature from more than a 100 degree in the desert and 50's here in WA made him more susceptible to jet lag. They only have one day off, June 4th, then they have to report 8 straight days including weekends for briefings and evaluations. So even if he is not feeling good he needs to attend those mandatory briefings. Good thing it is really not a whole day thing so he is able to be home early.

Vacation Deals

Now that my husband is already here we are planning to have a short getaway in summer. His leave will start on July 1st so right now I am looking for great vacation deals that we can possibly hop on to. We were planning of going to Hawaii and hopefully I will be able to see good deals on Hawaii vacation packages. I also have to make a back up plan in case we can't go there. At least we can go somewhere where we can all relax and enjoy family time.

Hubby's Homecoming I

As I was mentioning on here that my husband's arrival time supposedly was on June 2 midnight but due to its flight delayed they arrived here on the afternoon of June 3rd. They were being stranded in Ireland for more than 10 hours because they're changing plane but the plane that they are going to hop on to did not arrived yet. I believe they left Ireland late night of the 2nd. They stopped by in Maine very early in the morning. He was able to call me when they were in Maine. He told me then that expectedly they will be in WA around 11am which is on the 3rd.

After he called me I prepared our DD so we can go to the venue of the ceremony early although the informal ceremony will start at 2pm. I know that the parking will be hard and I want to get a good seat so we headed there early. We arrived at Soldiers Field House past 10am. We were told that we will be able to see live footage of the plane's arrival.

Past 11am their plane touchdown at McChord Air Force Base. When the plane was still up in the air approaching the runway, there was a loud shouting, laughing and clapping inside the field house. Family members were taking video and pictures even if it is only on that big screen above.
We all waited until the plane made a stop and they opened the door and then as soon as the first soldier came out everyone inside the field house were all clapping again and shouting for joy. One by one they were greeted by some officers and we were able to see them at the screen. Once family members saw their beloved soldier you can hear the shouting of "There's Daddy!" "There he is!" and other names. I even hear a little boy saying, "I didn't see my Daddy!" The Mom replied, "Don't worry we will not leave here without your Daddy."

He's in Europe

I just got a call from our Daddy that they are in Europe already for a lay over for 5 hours. Then they will fly straight going here in US. They will stop over somewhere in East Coast before heading here in the Northwest. Most probably they will be here after midnight. There will be an informal ceremony when they get here. This will be done I believe early in the morning. This would mean I am going to drive midnight going to post. Right now I am just here anxiously waiting for our Daddy.

My Kind of Persona

I have to tell you that this USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight that premiered on June 1st seems to be promising and something to look forward to. I like the plot since it's a crime drama and it's my kind of show especially so that the leading character is a tough lady. Of course what I am talking is the character of Mary McCormack who is Mary Shannon in the show. Mary plays as a US Marshal that and is associated with the witness protection program. She will be the one who take care of witnesses and have to deal with different types of people who could be criminals or innocent. She protects people so she has to be tough.

I have a wish eversince I was a kid that I will have a job like being a secret agent or what not and deal with bad criminals. Mary's character is not your typical demure girl, she could really kick butt and even her Mom and sister has a taste of her being tough as I have seen in the preview clip of In Plain Sight. I have a friend who is telling me about the clip too and said that her sister acts like Mary's sister, Brandi, on the show. Really, I am telling you to watch out for this tv series that will soon invade your respective homes.

Almost Here

"Isang tulog na lang!" Yes one more night and our Daddy will be here and our wait will be over then. I got a call from Rear D and I was told they will be here tomorrow. Since there will be 3 flights scheduled for tomorrow they don't know yet who will be in each flight. I am waiting for the manifest to be posted. Maybe tonight I will be able to view it. I can't wait.

Carpet Cleaner

As I was saying on my other blog that I already scheduled carpet cleaners to clean the carpet on all the rooms here in our apartment. My husband told me that he prefers to buy one of the steam cleaners that cleans carpets effectively. We can get one but I just need to have our carpet cleaned as soon as possible because our DD seemed like allergic to dusts and other minute debris hiding in the carpet. I am tired of using the comforter everytime I am playing with our DD on the floor. Hopefully with my husband will be here already we can schedule total steam cleaning of our apartment.
