IDUG Challenge

Are you up to a challenge? Well, this challenge I am talking about is open to all those who are interested and passionate about web developing. This challenge is called the IDUG contest. International DB2 Users Group or IDUG is sponsoring this said challenge that gives opportunity to professional developers, skilled and students alike, to enhance their knowledge, familiarity and skills on different computer programming and languages.

I told my husband that he can try it because he has knowledge in programming and knows about XML. Since this contest has five track levels or five categories, he can join the simpler one. The tracks of this contest include the following:
  • Video Contest: Invent a creative use of XML, XQuery or DB2 and upload a video of yourself while doing it. This will be judged by the community and prizes are awarded monthly.
  • Gadget Contest: Develop a downloadable gadget or widget leveraging DB2. Also judged by the community and prizes are awarded monthly.
  • XQuery Challenge: You need to answer series of questions by developing queries in XQuery. All coorect answers entered to win larger prizes.
  • Port an Application: Port an existing application to use XML, XQuery or DB2.
  • Develop an application: Contestants need to develop a brand new application using XML and/or XQuery.
Both Port and Develop an application track will be judged by panel of judges and you can join individually or assemble a team to participate in these challenges. The prizes in store are awesome. So I am encouraging those that have any knowledge on web developing to join this IDUG contest. Who knows, the one you create will become a backbone of the future in computer programming and web developing.
