Lately me and hubby is into snacking late at night. I know this is a bad thing for us because we are trying to lose weight and here we are gobbling up at an indecent hour. The funny thing is that hubby will sneak to the kitchen and eat like ice cream or cookies or anything that he can eat :-) when I ask him what he is eating he will say 'nothing' but of course I know he's been eating. Then I will ask him to get me what he was eating :-) I will feel bad afterward but I don't there are times that I can't just give in. I learned that in order for you to prevent from late night snacking, aside from discipline, is to choose food with high fiber for dinner. Fibrous food will make you feel full thus forget about eating your snacks late at night.
