Support Alzheimer's Association by Joining Memory Walk

I worked in health care before when we were still living in Georgia. I was assigned to work in a ward with patients suffering Alzheimer disease. I can say that it is very heartbreaking knowing that they are suffering with a disease that for now still has no cure. They really need total care and support. The family also needs support and understanding because having a family member who has this disease is very overwhelming. Others if not totally prepared will be stressed out as I have observed. All of us may have possibility of having this disease later in life. I don't want to think about it but we can't tell since this goes along hand with aging. It is a progressive disease that affects our brain. Those affected loss their memory and some don't even know who they are.

This is why there is a need for this disease to be informed to all because we are vulnerable to it. There are lots of ways that drives for its awareness, one of which is Alzheimer's Memory Walk. This is the largest event in the nation that raises awareness about the disease and funds for its continuous care and research. The association right now is calling for volunteers that will help in spreading the word about Alzheimer as well as fight against it. If you are interested you can join the walks that will be held in 600 communities during the weekend morning in the fall. So if you are interested and make a difference you can go to alz.org/memorywalk for more information.
